“Fairlawn Shady” is our best selling shade mix! It is reasonably priced and will work well in light to medium shade. No heavy fertilization is required! However, irrigation may be required for the shaded areas with tree roots. If you are looking for results, do not be tempted by less expensive mixes which contain as much as 50% – 70% of the poorer performing common red fescue.

• Best results with spring or fall planting (no leaves blocking light penetration).
• Recommend use of starter fertilizer.

Our “Tuff Turf” mix is designed for rapid establishment in full sun areas. These special, wear tolerant ryegrasses, hold up well to traffic. Tuff Turf II will do the job for the homeowner who has children and/or pets.

Our “Landscaper 4-3-3” mix has 30% of two types of fine fescue which makes this mix suitable for low maintenance, poor soil conditions, and lightly shaded areas. These fine fescue types are adaptable to shade or full sun conditions.

We highly recommend “Dura Shade” for new seeding in shaded areas. These deep rooted new tall fescues will compete with tree roots and will produce a sturdier and more durable turf. Dura Shade can also be used for over-seeding if the turf is thin.
