Erosion Control and Seed Cover
Mulches
Penn Mulch
PennMulch pellets are made of recycled paper that breaks down naturally without robbing the soil of nutrients. PennMulch contains no weed seeds. Many of the weeds that contaminate straw are perennial forage type grasses like Orchard grass or Timothy. These weeds cannot be selectively controlled once they invade your new turf! Unlike straw, PennMulch will never blow off the target area into the neighbor’s pool, and it never needs to be removed or raked up. If we were talking about any one of the many “knock-off” products we could stop right here. A paper pellet alone is of little value in enhancing a seedbed, but PennMulch is much more.
Encap
A granular mulch for use in most spreaders. This product has two special polymers that hold seed in place and speed up emergence to improve the survival and growth of the plant.
- Lawn Starter Mulch
is a granular mulch that can be applied with most broadcast spreaders. The granules are made from recycled paper and contain ENCAP’s proprietary blend of soil stabilizing polymers. The polymers are designed to improve soil conditions and keep seed, soil and fertilizer right where you put them, even after it rains. The polymers also help to condition the soil by creating micro channels that help to get water and nutrients into the root zone. This improves germination and overall seed establishment. All of this in a product that is clean and easy to use. ENCAP’s Lawn Starter Pro is fast and easy to apply with no cleanup saving you time, money and labor.
Available in 50 pound bags and 25 pound retail packages.

- Pam 12 Plus
is a granular mulch that can be applied with most broadcast spreaders. The granules are made from recycled paper and contain ENCAP’s proprietary blend of soil stabilizing polymers. The polymers are designed to improve soil conditions and keep seed, soil and fertilizer on sloped surfaces right where you put them, even after it rains. The polymers also help to condition the soil by creating micro channels that help to get water and nutrients into the root zone. This improves germination and overall seed establishment.

Erosion Control Fabric
Futerra “Environet”
New Futerra® EnviroNet™ takes advantage of advanced Futerra® technology, reinforced with a quick degrading, rectangular netting designed to minimize wildlife entanglement and improve site safety. EnviroNet is created for slopes and environmentally sensitive sites where windy conditions and/or higher levels of installation stress may be encountered. Futerra revegetation blankets are created using a proprietary and patented process using Thermally Refined® wood and degradable man-made fibers that are intertwined into a dimensionally stable composite matrix that conforms to the soil surface. This technology enables Futerra EnviroNet to minimize soil erosion while rapidly establishing vegetation. EnviroNet is more aesthetically pleasing and easier to install than traditional stitch-bonded straw, and coconut and excelsior blankets. Plus, it provides 99.9% erosion control effectiveness.
